Choosing a rescue dog for the family should include input from everyone in the family but needs to be done without emotion. No dog, especially a rescue dog should be considered a present from one family member to another or the whole family. It is important to understand what it takes to rescue a dog and Pommy & Pals Dog Rescue can help with your decision making process. First we ask that you poll all family members and make sure everyone in the family understands the commitment a new dog brings to your family… and before you call or email us please fill out our adoption application.
All dogs that come into Pommy & Pals Dog Rescue undergo a general health check by our wonderful veterinarian. All adoptables are fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, de-wormed and dental when required. They come to us from various situations including kill shelters, owner surrenders, strays and rescue transfers. All dogs that come into rescue go through a 2 week (minimum) assessment period when they arrive. We do accept applications during this period of time but the dog will not do meet and greets or join a new family until this time is complete.
Pommy Rescue adopts dogs keeping age of dog in relation to age of adopter in mind.. This MUST be an age appropriate match. Seniors are matched with senior dogs.
Adoption policy includes:
1. Completion of our application – please note this is the FIRST STEP. If interested in one of our dogs, please start by completing the adoption application. Only short listed applicants will be contacted.
